My story

Hi there! My name is Megan Slaton and I am the owner, baker, decorator, web designer, social media manager, etc behind Sugar, Spice, and All Things Iced. I am so happy you are here taking the time to learn about me and my baking business. Let’s dive right in!

At the age of sixteen, I bought my first cake decorating set to enter in a county fair for my high school culinary course. If you believe in love at first sight, then that is the best way to describe what developed from this simple task.

Over the next several years, I cultivated my passion both on my own and professionally by working at local bakeries as a cake decorator. There I honed my skills and my love of decorating deepened.

Today, I have my own bakery that travels with me across the country as my family follows my husbands career with the United States Marine Corps. My business began as an idea in March 2018 while stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C. and came to fruition on the island of O’ahu later that year. As of September 2022, Sugar, Spice, and All Things Iced operates out of Central Florida in the city of Apopka.

Hawai’i had an incredible impact on my business and my every day life. The culture, food, people, and views stole my heart and I try to live and lead with aloha.

Some items on my menu will reflect traditional Hawaiian flavors in an attempt to bring the love I have for them to the places we go as we follow my husband around the country. My plan is to take a little piece of everywhere I go to bring a wide variety of flavor and culture from wherever the Marine Corps sends us.
